Staff Bios

Joanne E. Markowitz, MSN, ANP-BC

joanneJoanne is an adult health care nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners; she has been practicing with Dr. Sadel since 2010. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, management of common and complex health care problems, weight loss and diabetic education.

Joanne is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her unique combination of strong nursing skills and passion for evidence-based practice drives her to deliver the very best care possible to help her patients maintain good health. “I believe in developing long-lasting, trusting relationships with patients and empowering them to be active participants in their own health care, and educating them to achieve their health goals to enhance their overall quality of life,” says Joanne.


Isel Oliveras, Medical Assistant

iselIsel has been a medical assistant for more than 20 years, with a specialty in phlebotomy. A part of the team in Dr. Sadel’s office for seven years, Isel is fluent in Spanish and is a caring, compassionate person and a hard worker. She is married and has two children, ages 34 and 32, and enjoys her beautiful granddaughters.

 


Lisa Rothman, Office Manager

lisaLisa is an experienced medical assistant and office manager who has been with Dr. Sadel’s practice since 2007. “I love being the office manager because I have the opportunity to create relationships with our patients and provide them with the help they need,” Lisa explains. “I also have a special interest because Dr. Sadel is my brother!” Lisa is married and has two children, ages 25 and 22.


Stephanie Lawthers, MS, RDN, LDN

Stephanie is a nutrition and exercise professional with experience in a vast spectrum of disciplines and Stephanie Lawthersprofessional environments. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and attended University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.  She received her Registered Dietitian designation from Immaculata University, and is a Licensed Dietician/Nutritionist in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Stephanie’s uses both a functional and an integrative approach to nutrition, which can bring health improvements through practical lifestyle changes, as well as medical intervention, if and when appropriate.  This way, she can not only help our patients manage their weight, but also support them in managing and preventing additional health concerns, such as diabetes, gastrointestinal/digestive disorders, food allergies, even headaches, and many others.  It perfectly complements Preservation Health’s mission to help patients get well and stay well.  “It’s my passion to counsel and educate others,” she says. “I want to help our patients experience the benefits of making changes to feel and live healthier.”

Prior to joining Preservation Health, Stephanie has helped clients in a variety of professional areas, including serving as food service director, community nutrition pulmonary rehab specialist, nutrition service manager and nutrition care coordinator, and personal trainer.

Vivi Sadel, Chief of Operations

viviVivi oversees the function of the practice, ensuring a high-quality patient experience at every visit. As Chief of Operations, Vivi is also an innovator, seeking new opportunities to better serve patients and provide them with better, more efficient health care. She has a background in education; her passion to educate her patients and her community on health topics and beyond is clear. “Once a teacher, always a teacher,” she says.
